Dr. Louise Metz is an Internal Medicine Physician who has expertise in the medical management of eating disorders and gender-related medical care. She is the owner and founder of Mosaic Comprehensive Care, a medical practice in Chapel Hill that offers weight-inclusive primary care and gynecologic care for adolescents and adults of all genders. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Biology and Women’s Studies at Duke University, she attended medical school at UNC. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco, and has published research on heart disease in women. Prior to opening Mosaic, she held academic positions at NYU’s Bellevue Hospital and Duke University. She is committed to increasing access to inclusive and affirming medical care for all individuals, and is passionate about changing the paradigm around weight and health in medical care. She grew up in Raleigh, and now lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and 2 boys. When she is not in the office, she enjoys attending her boys’ sports events, traveling with family, and hiking.
Dr. Stacey Bean is an experienced Family Medicine Physician at Mosaic Comprehensive Care. She received her M.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina, and completed her Family Medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Bean has published work on the initiation of female sexual education and empowerment training in the female juvenile justice system in San Antonio, TX. Prior to joining Mosaic, she worked at an inner city women’s health clinic in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Bean offers general primary care to adolescents and adults of all genders, and is passionate about providing affirming care to the LGBTQ community. She has particular interest in helping patients manage depression, anxiety, prediabetes, and in navigating the perimenopausal and menopausal periods. She also has unique expertise in sexual and reproductive health, including contraceptive care and STI prevention. Dr. Bean was raised in Columbia, SC, and now lives with her husband and two children in Chatham County. When not chasing after her children and their two family dogs, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time outdoors.
