Dr. Florencia Segura

MD

Dr. Florencia Segura is a board-certified pediatrician working at Einstein Pediatrics in Northern Virginia and a mother of two young children. She draws on her experience as a mom and a pediatrician to bring parents relevant and up-to-date information about parenting and child health.

Before working in private practice in Northern Virginia, Dr. Segura completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. and practiced as a Primary Care Pediatrician for three years at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). As an attending pediatrician at CHOP, she taught the medical students and pediatric residents.

Since becoming a mother, Dr. Segura has become passionate about helping new moms and their newborns thrive by creating community: partnering with lactation consultants, sleep experts, postpartum support, and other moms. Dr. Segura had her second baby during the COVID-19 pandemic and experienced firsthand how overwhelming it can be to have a newborn during a time with little support.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She uses her voice as an advocate for children and has contributed to numerous parenting articles in publications such as Parents Magazine, Healthline, Romper, the New York Times, and VeryWell Family. Dr. Segura has also been recognized as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine.

Dr. Segura resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, a dermatologist, raising their two energetic young children while drinking lots of coffee. In her free time, she enjoys running, learning new easy recipes to cook for her children, and spending time with both of their families.
