About this TEDx Talk:
We all want to know how to stop talking down to ourselves. Despite the obvious barriers - like influencer culture - the real problem is… that we treat ourselves in a way we would never treat the people we care about most. Yet we can all agree it’s true that when we truly respect someone, we would never intentionally minimize them. That’s why, in order to achieve this goal we need to shift our inner dialogue and learn to respect ourselves at the very least as much as we respect our friends. Society tells us that we have to fit into this tiny narrow minded mold of what is considered beautiful.
Lindsay believes confidence in the skin you are in trickles into every aspect and relationship in your life. She gives women permission to feel beautiful exactly as they are. Internationally published and multi-award-winning photographer, author, and Inspirational Speaker, including first place for RangeFinder Magazine's Celebrate the Body and first place at North America's largest speaking competition, the 2021 Speaker Slam on Self Acceptance. Lindsay owns and operates Self Love Experience out of Troy, NY; there she and her glam squad showcase the natural beauty and power in every woman, helping women overcome negative self-esteem and becoming more confident versions of themselves. Lindsay is an active contributor to Women's Business Daily and Co-Author of the Amazon Best Seller and Impact Award winning book, Success Codes: The Secrets to Success You Weren't Taught In High School. She also won a gold medal for W3s Online Social Activism for her work on size inclusivity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.

Bring the whole fam and join HER Health Collective for a fun outing at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday, May 15th. The Bulls take the field against the Gwinnett Stripers at 5:05 PM. Gates open at 4:00 and there will be post-game Kids-Run-The-Bases.
Order your tickets today! Each person will purchase their tickets from our HER block of seats; however, you won’t receive the email to access your tickets until 48 hours out from the game. That is because the system will move people around to make sure everyone is sat together in case some of the seats in our block don’t get purchased.
Any seats left in the block will be released three days prior to the game.
Grab your favorite beverage and join your mom friends for some much-deserved fun social time as we welcome our new members to the fam!
Whether you are winding down a long day at the office, or are taking a moment for yourself after wrangling the kids all day long, we all need a moment to pause, check in with our mom friends, and share some good laughs.
Feel free to pop on while you're cooking dinner or with the kiddos causing mayhem in the background! You know, we never judge 😉
This is a moment for YOU to laugh, commiserate, and feel supported by your mom friends!
Plus, we have the very important and fun job of welcoming our newest HER friends to the family!

Join us online for our May Book Club discussion of The Yes Brain, a parenting must-read by Drs. Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson.
About this book:
From the authors of The Whole-Brain Child and No-Drama Discipline, an indispensable guide to unlocking your child’s innate capacity for resilience, compassion, and creativity.
When facing contentious issues such as screen time, food choices, and bedtime, children often act out or shut down, responding with reactivity instead of receptivity. This is what New York Times bestselling authors Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson call a No Brain response. But our kids can be taught to approach life with openness and curiosity. When kids work from a Yes Brain, they’re more willing to take chances and explore. They’re more curious and imaginative. They’re better at relationships and handling adversity. In The Yes Brain, the authors give parents skills, scripts, and activities to bring kids of all ages into the beneficial “yes” state.
You’ll learn
• the four fundamentals of the Yes Brain—balance, resilience, insight, and empathy—and how to strengthen them
• the key to knowing when kids need a gentle push out of a comfort zone vs. needing the “cushion” of safety and familiarity
• strategies for navigating away from negative behavioral and emotional states (aggression and withdrawal) and expanding your child’s capacity for positivity
The Yes Brain is an essential tool for nurturing positive potential and keeping your child’s inner spark glowing and growing strong.
