Maris is a full-spectrum doula and reproductive justice advocate. Experienced in supporting birth, postpartum, loss, and bereavement, she also works as a childbirth educator and placenta encapsulation specialist. Maris began her path with DC Doulas for Choice, a volunteer doula collective committed to providing support to people across the full spectrum of reproductive healthcare. Passionate about all reproductive health options, Maris trained under a midwife with Birth Arts International and expanded to serve families one-on-one through childbirth and the postpartum period. With an evidence-based approach, Maris creates spaces for women to make informed decisions that feel intuitive for their bodies and families. She is constantly in awe to share these moments in clients’ lives. 

Beyond being a full-time doula, Maris also stepped into a new role as co-owner and director of Carolina Birth & Wellness. She also enjoys a good book, an afternoon on her skateboard, and playing with her dogs.
