Poor posture can negatively impact a persons health. Back problems are an obvious result of poor posture with back pain being the most common problem. Poor posture can affect our health in other ways too. For example, slouching can give rise to jaw pain and headache. Poor posture places more strain on the muscles and joints and can lead to arthritis. Poor posture can also affect breathing, and impair both the circulatory and digestive systems.
Most people have poor posture and it is visible in a variety of different activities we do every day. Join us for an Expert Q&A with Dr. Lindsay Mumma as she offers tips on how to improve your own posture during various everyday activities.

Dr. Lindsay Mumma received her BA from Kent State University in Kent, OH, and her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA, where she was named the Clinical Excellence Award winner for her graduating class. In addition to the academic requirements of the DC program, Dr. Mumma has also completed over 600 continuing education credit hours in areas such as rehabilitation, developmental kinesiology, pediatrics, pregnancy, nutrition, pain management, sports injuries, TMJ disorder treatment, disc pain, and neurology.
