Bio/Description

I help busy, capable women like you who feel like they’re holding it all together on the outside but are running on fumes inside. My clients are resourceful, self-aware moms who are juggling it all- kids, careers, relationships, and endless to-do lists- yet feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and/or disconnected. You might be in the middle of a big life change or simply tired of always being “the one” who keeps it all going. I see our work as a partnership where I bring research-backed approaches and real-life understanding to the table to help my clients create lasting change with a compasstionate, relatable, non-judgemental, and sometimes humorous way.

In our first few sessions, our focus will be geared towards getting to know you by gaining a deep understanding of your unique story and your goals for therapy in order to guide you towards greater life balance and alignment with your core values so that you can live the rich, meaningful life that you imagine for yourself.

Research tells us that the most crucial aspect of the therapeutic process is the relationship between the client and therapist. My priority is to create an environment where my clients feel welcome and are able to build trust so that they can take risks and be vulnerable. I find that clients who do tend to gain momentum towards their goals more quickly, leading them to feeling more fulfilled and satisfied with their lives.

I am a NC Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with more than 20 years experience. I serve as a NCBLCMHC board approved Clinical Supervisor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Sweet Briar College and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology from UNC- Chapel Hill. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of both public and private sector settings but spent the bulk working in higher education working in college counseling centers, with individuals with disabilities, as well as in private practice.
